Speed limit set on Commonwealth
(published May 13, 2008) The Quezon City Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) warned motorists to watch their speed meter while traversing the stretch of Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City or be apprehended. An ordinance which imposes a maximum speed limit of 60 kilometers per hour for all types of vehicles along Commonwealth Avenue has been approved by the 26-member Quezon City council in a bid to prevent vehicular and pedestrian accidents. The speed limit and corresponding penalties to be imposed on erring motorists are contained in PO-08-34, entitled An ordinance Regulating the Use of Commonwealth Avenue from Elliptical Road, Barangay Old Capitol Site to Fairview Entrance gate, Barangay Fairview and for other purposes.

Two suspects riding in tandem aboard a motorcycle fired at a lawyer inside his Honda CRV sports utility vehicle . . .The lawyer . . . had just withdrawn money from a bank when the incident happened. The suspects took P1 million.
The moral: Don't carry large amounts of money.
